We'll come to your location, set up and process your group efficiently.

Government fees and applicable mileage are additional.

California's CCW renewal process includes new fingerprint-based firearms eligibility requirements beginning September 1, 2026 for applicable renewal submissions.

AAO provides Live Scan fingerprinting specifically for existing California CCW permit holders completing their renewal requirements.

Please confirm your Live Scan requirement and obtain the correct Live Scan form from your issuing Sheriff's Office or Police Department before your appointment.

AAO does not provide Live Scan services for initial CCW applications.

Government CCW fees are determined by the applicable DOJ transaction and your issuing agency's Live Scan form.

Live Scan fingerprinting for applicable Bureau of Security and Investigative Services licenses and permits.

Applying for an initial California Certificate of Eligibility? We can complete your required Live Scan fingerprint submission.

Teachers, administrators, school employees, coaches, tutors and applicable school volunteers.

Day care providers, day camps, youth organizations and individuals working with children.

Employees and volunteers who need fingerprint-based background checks.

Need a copy of your own California criminal history record for personal review, an attorney or another authorized purpose? We can complete the applicable DOJ Record Review Live Scan.

If an authorized agency or organization has provided you with a Request for Live Scan Service form, chances are AAO can help.

*Government fees are established by the applicable government agencies and are subject to change. Additional fees may apply depending on the ORI, application type and requesting agency.

Government processing fees still apply to each applicant.

Each applicant must have:

• Printed Request for Live Scan Service form
• Applicant portion completed before the appointment
• Correct ORI number
• Correct requesting agency information
• Correct application type and other agency-provided information
• Valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID
• Any additional instructions provided by the requesting agency

You will sign your Live Scan form at the time of fingerprinting.

The requesting agency — not AAO — provides the ORI number, application type and agency information needed to properly route your results.

If you are unsure about any of this information, please contact the organization requesting your Live Scan before your appointment.

Incorrect information can delay processing and may require another Live Scan.

Already completed your fingerprints?

Your completed Live Scan form contains an ATI Number (Applicant Transaction Identifier).

Use your ATI Number + Date of Birth to check your fingerprint-processing status directly with the California Department of Justice.
